Satellite Surveying Theory – Ramkhamhaeng University
GNSS Receiver Training at Ramkhamhaeng University
On October 20, 2024, the Surveying Instruments Department had the honor of serving as guest lecturers at the Faculty of Engineering, Ramkhamhaeng University, to provide a training session on the use of GNSS receivers in survey engineering. The session covered both theory and practical , utilizing Trimble GNSS receivers – R4s, R8s, and R10 – for data collection demonstrations.
The training included:
- Static positioning for establishing control points.
- RTK (Real-Time Kinematic) surveying for detailed area mapping.
- Contour line generation from collected data within the university.
Additionally, accuracy tests were conducted by surveying building boundaries to determine building areas. The collected data was then compared with results from other surveying instruments. Although the results were similar, Trimble GNSS receivers proved to be more convenient and significantly reduced data collection time.
