Survey Istrument Division has delivered and training on the Carlson Boretrak2 borehole deviation measurement equipment to the Department of Mineral Resources and Mining Industry. This equipment will be used in conjunction with laser scanners for surface condition measurements in designing blast hole layouts.

The Boretrak2 equipment is user-friendly, lightweight, and easy to assemble. Once assembled and inserted into the borehole, it can display various measurements such as depth, inclination, deviation from the designed hole, etc. These measurements can be displayed as 3D graphic images on a tablet screen and transferred to a computer for further analysis and processing. This enhances the efficiency and safety of the drilling operations, making them more environmentally friendly.
