In November 2025, the Survey Instruments Division, together with its affiliated companies, organized a training program on the use of the high-resolution integrated 3D scanning total station, Trimble SX12, for aircraft alignment and maintenance operations of the Royal Thai Air Force.

The training highlighted robotic control technology, which allows users to remotely control the instrument, automatically and precisely target prisms, and efficiently capture aircraft structural alignment data. This capability enables accurate adjustment and leveling of aircraft structures during maintenance operations. In addition, the Trimble SX12 can scan aircraft surfaces and display the data instantly on the on-site touchscreen controller. The captured data can then be further processed into a 1:1 scale, true-color 3D model using Trimble Business Center (TBC) software and stored as a digital database for future applications and extended use.
